Our departments
Six departments make up the business. Each page shows the purpose, the people, the measures that matter and the systems the team works in.
Cabinet Making and Joinery
Manufactures carcasses, doors, drawers, panels and solid timber components for kitchens, wardrobes and commercial joinery. The team runs the beam saw, CNC machining centre, edge bander and assembly benches, working from cutting lists and drawings issued by Design and Estimating and delivering finished units to Dispatch on the scheduled date.
Upholstery and Soft Furnishings
Produces new upholstered seating and restores customer furniture. Upholsterers strip, repair frames, apply webbing, springs and foam, cut and sew covers and fit final fabrics and leather. The workroom also makes loose covers, cushions and padded pelmets for interior designers and hospitality clients.
Glass and Glazing
Processes flat glass at the Bayswater plant and installs glazing products on site. The plant cuts, edges, toughens, laminates and mirrors glass, and the glazing crew measures and fits shower screens, splashbacks, mirrors, balustrades and windows in accordance with the Australian Standard for glass in buildings.
Design and Estimating
Turns client briefs and site measures into drawings, specifications, cutting lists and quotes. Designers work with customers in the Richmond showroom, estimators cost every job against current material and labour rates, and the team issues the production documentation that the factory and glass plant build from.
Installation and Dispatch
Stores incoming board, timber, hardware, foam and fabric, picks and packs completed jobs and delivers and installs them on site. Three installation crews fit cabinetry and glazing to the builder's program, and the stores team keeps stock accurate so production never waits on materials.
Quality, Safety and Administration
Owns the management system, controlled documents, incident and hazard register, hazardous substance register, training records, purchasing and payroll. The department chairs the safety committee, investigates incidents, manages customer complaints and warranty claims and prepares the business for external audits and builder prequalification.
